Do you know that God has a plan for your healing? Yes, God has made a way for you to walk in divine health all the days of your life. God never intended for mankind to be sick for even one day. When God created the world, there was no sickness or disease. Genesis 1:31 says, “God saw everything that he had made, and behold; it was good, (excellent) in every way.” This also refers to the creation of man and woman: God created them with no sickness or disease in their bodies. However, because Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God’s commandment, sin came into the world along with every sickness and disease.

Today, some Christian denominations teach that God put sickness on us to teach us a lesson or to humble us. This is absolutely not true. In fact, in Exodus 15:26, God says about Himself, “I am the Lord that heals you.” Psalms 107:20 says, “He (God) sent his word, and healed and delivered them from their destructions.” Clearly, God is a healer. God has made a way for mankind to overcome sickness. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to be our example on earth of how God is and also to bear the sin and sickness of the world.

However, before you can understand this truth, you must understand that Satan is the author of all sickness and disease. He is the one who puts sickness and disease on our bodies. Someone may say that God allows Satan to do it. The truth is, however, that people suffer sickness because they do not understand God’s plan for healing. The Bible confirms this in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” When a person does not know or has not been taught that healing is available, he or she will simply accept symptoms of disease without a fight. Therefore, open up your heart and receive your healing from God.

In Luke 13, Jesus encountered a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit for 18 years. The disease caused her to be permanently bent over. “When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said unto her, woman, you are healed of your sickness.” Jesus then laid hands on her, and immediately, she was made whole and stood up straight. Later that day, religious leaders criticized Him for healing the woman. Jesus identified the culprit behind sickness: “Ought not this woman—whom Satan has bound (afflicted) these eighteen years—be loosed from this bond?” Jesus said Satan was the cause of this woman’s affliction.

God sent Jesus to show mankind that He is the HEALER. Matthew 4:23-24 backs up this claim, stating that Jesus went everywhere teaching, preaching and healing ALL manner of sickness and disease. The New Living Translation says concerning verse 24, “and whatever their illness and pain, or if they were possessed by demons, or were epileptics, or were paralyzed, he (Jesus) healed them all.” Acts 10:38 says, “Jesus went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Even before He got to the cross, Jesus began paying for the sins of mankind. He was whipped with a cat-of-nine tail 39 times. According to medical science, there are 39 classes of sickness and disease. In other words, Jesus bore your sicknesses and diseases with every whip. Every time they whipped his back, he was paying the price for you to be healed. Isaiah 53:4, 5 and 1 Peter 2:24 say, “… by his stripes we are healed.” Do you understand that God’s desire for you is for you to be healed? No matter what disease you may have, God can heal you. No matter how long you have had the illness, God can heal you.

Do you need healing for your body right now? Are you faced with a disease for which the doctors have no cure? Well, today is your day. You are not reading this by accident. God is ready to touch your body and heal you. There are steps you must take in order to receive your healing.

First, you must believe that God is a healer. Look through the New Testament and find scriptures that talk about healing and meditate and speak these scriptures out loud on a daily basis. Proverbs 4:20 says that the Word of God is life, health, and medicine to all your flesh. Speak this word over your body 2-3 times a day, just like taking a medicine that a doctor prescribed for you. If you continue this diligently, you will see changes in your body over time. Remember, healing is a process; it can happen overnight, or it can take months. No matter how long it takes, you must not give up until every part of your body is healed.

Secondly, find a church that believes in and teaches healing. This will encourage you and build you up when you feel like giving up. It will also build your faith concerning healing.

Finally, do not talk about the sickness. Instead, talk about the healing that you are expecting from God. The reason most people don’t receive their healing from God is that they believe one thing but speak the opposite. Don’t do that; instead, say what God says about you, as recorded in the Bible. Speak words like by His stripes I am healed. I am the healed and not the sick. God sent His word and healed me. He is the Lord God that heals me. Such words put God’s power into motion in your body and bring forth healing and wholeness. God bless you on your journey to health and wholeness.
