Happy Anniversary to His Voice!

May 13, 2020 4 min

One year ago, after years of wrestling with a particular call from God, He asked me, “will you obey me; will you surrender to the call?” I finally said yes, and that resulted in the birth of His Voice Ministry. This past year, this ministry has endeavored to proclaim the Truth concerning issues on God’s Heart to which the Body of Christ must respond from a Biblical perspective. This ministry has discussed topics, such as homosexuality, voting, abortion, political platforms, praying over our nation and leaders, and many others. The discussions were designed to provide believers with greater spiritual understanding about some hot topics. As this ministry goes forth, we will continue to be His Voice, sounding the alarm loud and strong for all to hear.

Today, in keeping with the mission of His Voice, let’s discuss another hot topic. For over a month, churches have been having virtual services in response to the so-called shelter-in-place mandate implemented across the country. Pastors who were not in step with social media were forced to develop websites, Facebook pages, or some other social media outlet to stay in touch with their congregants who are forced to stay home. It is so amazing how many churches have “gone viral,” so to speak. The message of Jesus Christ has been made available on all social channels, including a not so familiar one, Zoom. The Body of Christ has taken social media by storm, and now, churches are holding Zoom Bible Studies and church meetings.

God has given the Body of Christ a great opportunity to reach souls during this time. Now, those who would not set foot through a church door can sit in their homes and view church services. I believe that if we pray, God will use this time to build a bridge that will bring people from their homes into fellowship with local churches when their doors re-open. God has given pastors a great opportunity seek His wisdom and thus come back better, bigger and stronger than when we were before we closed our doors.

I believe God has given every believer the same opportunity as well. We are being forced to stay inside where we now have the time to pray and study the Word. Rarely, as a society, do we get to slow down from the usual busy routines of life.

Let’s take advantage of this time. Let’s continue to have an attitude that does not include complaining or fear. Sure, we may be facing discomfort and uncertainty. However, a little discomfort and uncertainty never hurt anyone; in fact, it is a good thing. It helps us to see some things we have never seen before or have ignored. And it encourages us to place our trust in God, where it should always be. Perhaps, we were too busy to take time to hear from God concerning a matter. Well now, we have time!

We have seen the effects of COVID-19 on our society, so we must continue to keep the Word of God before our eyes. I remind you now of some of those scriptures.

Philippians 4:19 – And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Our God has already done it. All we must do is receive it. Say this with me, My God has supplied all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 53:4, 5 – Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Say this: By the stripes that wounded Jesus I am the healed.

Philippians 4:6-7 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

There is no need for us to have an anxious mind about anything. We can take our worries and cares to God who is big and capable enough, and more than willing, to handle anything you bring to him. Say this: I will not worry or fear. I will take every concern to my Father for he cares for me, and I will leave it there, knowing full well by faith that my Father has taken care of it.

Psalms 73:28 – But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works.

When practicing social distance, we should never distance ourselves from God. In fact, this is a great time to get close to Him. He is inviting us to draw near to Him. Let us seek Him as never before. When we do, we will be empowered to declare the works of God with an attitude of faith and love and from a perspective of the supreme strength, ability, enormity, and benevolence of our Father! After all, there is nothing that He cannot do!

God bless you, as you continue to hear His Voice, and thank you for your support and prayers.
