HELP!

Are we believers hearing the cries of sinners as we should during these times? Could it be that we are so self-absorbed and fearful that we are failing to hear the heart of God? Are we failing to see the countless number of people going to bed night after night, crying for someone to help them, to rescue them from their pain, addictions, heart break, depression, and confusion? There are people begging for someone to show them a better way of living. Are we failing to hear the voice of God directing us to go out and pray for that man or woman who outwardly looks good, but is hurting inwardly?

I read an article claiming that John Lennon’s song “Help! was an actual plea for help that went unheeded at the time. Lennon himself said, “When ‘Help!’ came out, I was actually crying out for help. Most people think it’s just a fast rock ‘n’ roll song.” HIs lyrics echo the desperate cries of so many today.

Help, I need somebody

Help, not just anybody

Help, you know I need somebody, help

Help me get my feet back on the ground

Won’t you please, please, help me?

Won’t you please, please, help me, help me, help me?

Father God wants us to be spiritually tuned to hear the cries for help, and not ignore them. We have the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, and the Word of God to make a difference in people’s lives. We should never think we received salvation just to sit back and go to Heaven someday. We were saved to make a difference in someone’s life, to bring someone out of darkness into His glorious light. We are the ones Christ is sending forth as laborers into His bountiful harvest. Let us pray:

Father God, help us to always hear the cries for help coming from those in need. Help us to not ignore them. Help us not be ignorant concerning the devil tactics, which include hiding things under a cover of pretense. May we have hearts that are able to discern between real cries and those which are not. Help us to lean on Your understanding, not our own. Help us to be agents of change in a world that desperately needs to be touched by You! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

I heard the following quote on an American Family Radio broadcast: “You can’t come on strong about something you don’t feel strong about.” In other words, if we preach, teach, and declare it, let us have the fortitude to back it with our actions!

God bless you as you continue to heed His Voice!
